ECODIS

Development of technologies for the effective generation, distribution and management of energy flows in urban-industrial environments and their application in the transformation of cities towards a Low Carbon City model.

Nature of the project

Development of technology for energy generation, distribution and management which in an integrated manner can lead to the minimisation of a city's energy consumption and thus contribute towards reducing its carbon footprint and greenhouse gas emissions under a Life Cycle perspective.

To innovate in the development of specific technologies that can generate an integrated and highly efficient system of energy management, connecting industry, services and the residential and tertiary sectors, as well as transport.

Development of technologies for the operation of thermal and electricity networks, minimising consumption and encouraging renewable distributed generation as well as sustainable mobility, in addition to safety at the point of consumption.

Development of the methodological analysis, control and minimisation of the city's carbon footprint, by means of optimised resource management.

Generation of new business and service models oriented towards the exploitation of the technologies and knowledge developed. Evaluation of the same at "ad hoc" experimental demonstration installations that will be implemented in the city of Barakaldo, transforming the city into a City Lab where citizens and technology interact.

Development of platforms for the monitoring, management and communication of the technologies developed adapted to different user structures; private, administration and citizens.

The role of Repcon

Development of software for an integrated energy planning and management model for the urban environment with a life cycle perspective.
