GEOGREEN

The project takes on the technological challenges of the assessment and development of strategies for exploiting the potential posed by the geographical movement of electrical charges associated with the electric vehicle.

Nature of the project

The goals of the project include the description of use cases, development of a hierarchical model of the system, analysis of the batteries used in V2G (Vehicle To Grid) applications, analysis of energy storage in buildings, development of algorithms for the optimisation of battery charging and discharging, development of monitoring strategies for optimal management of the building, development of algorithms for optimal planning of the place and time of energy consumption, routing algorithms to optimise communications with the aim of improving energy efficiency, algorithms for dimensioning and locating vehicle charging points and data-processing servers. Initial technical and economic cost/benefit analyses to learn about the viability of the results.

Finally, an adequate ICT architecture for the implementation of the solution will be proposed. The use of standards will be taken into account (communication protocols and interfaces, particularly for ICT).

The role of Repcon

To develop applications that aid decision-making to minimise the environmental impact and maximise the use of energy generated by renewable sources. The creation of an ICT architecture that implements the goals of GeoGreen has been led.
